Canada Revenue Agency Shut Down Tax Filing Secure Web Access

Canada Revenue Agency has shut down all access to its secure web server, effective April 8, 2014.

Secure web services affected by this shut down are CRA online services like, EFILE, NETFILE, My Account, My Business Account and Represent a Client.

CRA website state that, April 8, late afternoon, it came to their attention that the software CRA is using to make internet transmission of our data secure is vulnerable to a bug named “Heartbleed Bug” and it was affecting the secure data transmission software worldwide. As a preventive measure, CRA temporarily shut down public access to their online secure services to safeguard the integrity of the information they hold.

Vancouver residents cheerfully re-elected their Mayor in last election. Re-election of an incumbent Mayor means, you fully approve of his past actions and commited to his future actions and policies.

So, here we go again. Press the button of property owners and get some more money out of them. While the recession means tightening the budget and cutting expenses, it means a whole different thing for the Vancouver City Council.

We need more police force, while we do not have money at the moment. The city budget is already $52 million in deficit.

BC Minimum Wage Is Going Up From Today

These wage increases usually happen on new year, but this year under the new BC Premier Christy Clark, the BC minimum wage is going upto $9.50/hr, against protest from Hospitality Business Owners.

Premier Christy Clark announced her intention earlier this year to introduce incremental increases to the provincial minimum hourly wage, which stood at $8 — the lowest in Canada — for nearly a decade.

The first increase took effect on May 1 of this year, when the minimum hourly wage rose to $8.75. It’s expected to reach $10.25 by May 2012.
